Sepilok’s jungle welcome
Fly from London via Kuala Lumpur to Sandakan.
Upon arrival on day 2, you will be transferred to Sepilok Nature Lodge where you will stay for 2 nights with breakfast included. This wooden-chalet retreat is wrapped in tropical gardens beside virgin rainforest. Spend your first afternoon unwinding or join a night walk later to spot flying squirrels and slow loris.
Next morning, stroll the canopy walkways of the Rainforest Discovery Centre for sweeping treetop views, or opt for an excursion to Labuk Bay to see charismatic proboscis monkeys leaping across mangroves.

Kinabatangan River wildlife
Begin day 4 with a morning visit to the renowned Sepilok Orangutan and Sun Bear centres before cruising into Sabah and arriving at Abai Jungle Lodge where you will stay for 1 night on a full-board basis. This evening, you will glide along misty waterways at sunset, watching proboscis monkeys and hornbills, then venture out later on a night safari to seek out nocturnal life.
On day 5, you will continue upriver to Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge for a further 2 nights on a full-board basis, a relaxed base amid rich floodplains. Enjoy dawn and dusk boat safaris in search of pygmy elephants, crocodiles and rare bird species, with expert guides revealing the intricate river ecosystem for the rest of your time here.
Pristine beaches of Gaya Island before heading home
Return to Sandakan this morning for your flight to Kota Kinabalu. On arrival you will be transferred to the jetty, where you will take a scenic boat ride to Gaya Island Resort for 5 final nights with breakfast included. Set within a protected marine park, this elegant hideaway offers a golden beach, lush rainforest and indulgent spa.
Your stay includes a guided rainforest walk. Snorkelling explorations over vibrant reefs, and a tranquil mangrove kayak excursion is at additional cost. Spend four full days unwinding in paradise! Snorkel, dive, paddleboard or simply lounge by the infinity pool as cicadas hum in the trees.
Enjoy a final swim or beach stroll on day 13 before your boat and car transfer to Kota Kinabalu airport for your overnight flight back to London.
