Well, we are back to reality after a fabulous trip to Tanzania – very much a holiday of a lifetime and one we will never forget.

Glenn Hanson, Tanzania

We were keen to see as many species of bird as possible and the guides were expecting this and each had amazing knowledge of where to find them. Not just that, but they made sure we also got to see many of the rest of the wildlife of the region - everything from amazing numbers of Impala, Giraffe, Elephant, Zebra, lions, Cheetah and Leopard, and even Wild Dog that we had hoped to see but doubted we would be so lucky!

Peter Haine, Tanzania

We had an amazing time. Everything was brilliant (even the baboon leaving a gift on the bed in the Serengeti!). I think Nick’s highlight was the lion cubs. I loved all the safari, but seeing the turtles hatch in Pangani was truly awesome. All the accommodation was exactly what we had hoped for. I hadn’t realised we would have a tent on our first night as well.

Jacqui Davids, Tanzania

Thank you for arranging a fantastic holiday. We both really enjoyed ourselves and felt totally refreshed upon our return. The game viewing was spectacular, we were so lucky to see the pantheon of game on offer including hyena, wild dog and leopard, as well as a different pride of lion on each day we went out.

Hazel Bellfield, Tanzania

We had a wonderful time away, beautiful setting and such great staff. Especially Pongwe – again staff, food, location fantastic!

Tour itinerary

Days 1 - 4:

Rift Valley Safari – Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro

Fly overnight to Kilimanjaro.

Upon arrival on day 2, your private driver/guide and 4×4 will be waiting. You’ll then head straight to Kirurumu Manyara Lodge for 1 night on a full-board basis. A tented eco-lodge on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, it offers sweeping views across Lake Manyara. This afternoon you will head out on a game drive through acacia forests and hippo-dotted wetlands, where giraffe, buffalo and (if you’re lucky) tree-climbing lions roam.

On day 3, you will continue to Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp where you will stay for 2 nights on a full-board basis. This is a small camp tucked into acacia forest right on the crater rim and is in a prime safari location.

Spend day 4 on safari in the Ngorongoro Crater. This dramatic volcanic caldera is home to Big Five favourites, including rare black rhino and some of Tanzania’s largest lion prides.

Wild nature of Africa. Zebras against mountains and clouds. Safari in Ngorongoro Crater National park. Tanzania.
Days 5 - 7:

Into the Serengeti

Head into the iconic plains of the Serengeti today as you continue to spend 3 nights on a full-board basis at Ang’ata Serengeti Camp. Set in the central Seronera region, this is the sister camp to Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp.

You’re in the heart of safari country: endless grasses and riverbanks where lion, leopard and cheetah stalk. With your private guide and vehicle, explore at your own pace—this region is excellent for resident wildlife, and if you go at the right time of year (July – October), you will have a chance to witness the Great Migration. To take in the wildlife from above, include a hot air balloon safari!

On day 7, enjoy a final breakfast in the Serengeti, before you take a light aircraft over to Zanzibar and head to Stone Town. You will be transferred to Zanzibar Palace Hotel for 1 night with breakfast included, a richly restored heritage townhouse where carved doors and Swahili antiques frame sea views. This afternoon, you will head out with a private guide, stroll the coral-stone alleyways, uncover sultans’ palaces, spice bazaars and rooftop cafés before toasting the sunset over the harbour.

Days 8 -14:

Zanzibar beach – Swahili stories and secluded shores

This morning, you’ll be met and transferred to end your holiday on the tranquil east coast for 6 nights of laid-back luxury at Pongwe Beach Hotel with breakfast included. Hammocks sway between palm trees and the beach feels like your own at this traditional Zanzibari hotel.

You will have 5 full days to relax and explore. Kayak along the coast, snorkel coral gardens, or just sink into a sunlounger with a good book. We can arrange spice farm visits, dolphin cruises, forest walks in Jozani, and island cooking classes. Or simply relax, with nothing on the agenda but watching the tides.

On day 14, you will have a final morning to relax on the beach before you are transferred back to Zanzibar airport to connect with your flights home.
