Northern Tanzania Safari and Beach

Fly overnight from the UK to Kilimanjaro (via Nairobi).

Upon arrival on day 2, you will be met by your private driver-guide and 4×4 vehicle. You will then head straight out to Tarangire National Park for 2 nights on a full-board basis at Burunge Tented Camp, a laid-back camp perched above Lake Burunge with stunning sunset views and cosy canvas rooms.

Spend day 3 on a game drive in Tarangire National Park, a beautiful park famed for its giant baobabs and epic elephant herds. By June, wildlife gathers around the Tarangire River, with buffalo and more on the move – a thrilling introduction to northern Tanzania.

Leave Tarangire behind and travel to Lake Manyara National Park for a day’s game viewing and picnic lunch under the acacias. This compact park offers surprisingly rich sightings, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the elusive tree-climbing lions. You’ll then leave the park and head to the Ngorongoro Highlands for 1 night on a full-board basis at Farmhouse Valley Lodge, a working coffee farm with warm hospitality and views of Oldeani volcano.

On Day 5, rise early to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day safari – one of the best chances to spot black rhino in all of East Africa. After a picnic lunch on the crater floor, continue overland to the sweeping plains of the Serengeti for 1 night on a full-board basis at Nyikani Central Camp, an authentic 12-tent camp nestled in the game-rich Serengeti National Park.

This morning you will continue your safari adventure as you drive north with your guide to the Mara River region. You will then settle into Nyikani Migration Camp, a mobile camp that moves twice a year in order to follow the Great Migration (between June to October).

On day 7, a full day of game viewing awaits! You’ll head out with your guide and private 4×4 – keep your eyes peeled for incredible wildlife!

After a final Serengeti game drive and bush breakfast on day 8, you will fly by light aircraft to the Indian Ocean coast for a well-earned dose of barefoot luxury at Lazy Lagoon for 5 nights with breakfast included. Accessible only by boat, this private island retreat offers white sand beaches, warm lagoon waters, and rustic charm in spades.

Four full days to enjoy the Indian Ocean! This is the perfect place to relax, swim in the ocean, and laze on the Swahili day-beds.

Unwind in your stilted banda overlooking the sea, take a kayak through the mangroves, head out on a snorkelling excursion and explore vibrant coral reefs, or grab a paddleboard at low tide and paddle over the still waters of the lagoon. For an intimate experience, visit a private sandbar that emerges from the Indian Ocean, or for a slice of culture, you can go on a Bagamoyo tour to learn more about East Africa’s slave trade history.

On day 14, you can enjoy a final swim before you transfer back to the airport to connect with your flights home.
