DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: UK to Kota Kinabalu
Fly overnight from the UK to Kota Kinabalu.

Day 2: Kota Kinabalu
On arrival into Kota Kinabalu you will be met & transferred to Shangri La Rasa Ria Resort where you will spend 2 nights with breakfast included. Remember, this is just a starting point idea to give you a flavour of what we can do. Day 3: Kota Kinabalu
A day to relax into your surroundings by the shores of the South China Sea. Rasa Ria has village bicycle tours, a mangrove river cruise and is also situated in its own 64-acre nature reserve with Orang Utan sanctuary. Other activities you can do include a nocturnal wildlife watch, night walk, canopy walk, jungle walk and bird-watching.

Day 4: Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan
Heading back to Kota Kinabalu airport today for your flight departing to Sandakan. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to My Nature Resort where you will be staying for 1 night with breakfast and dinner included. Want to add in a visit to The Labuk Bay Sanctuary to see the Proboscis Monkeys at feeding time? Day 5: Sandakan to Abai
Today you will visit Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre for a guided tour and witness feeding time, followed by a visit to the Sun Bear Conservation Centre. You will then leave Sepilok for a boat cruise to Sukau village, stopping along the way for lunch at the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary. On arrival at Sukau, check in to Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge where you will be staying for 2 nights with all meals included. In the late afternoon join another river cruise before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Day 6: Kinabatangan River
Enjoy a morning cruise along the Kinabatangan River followed by a jungle walk and experience the wilderness of Borneo before returning to the lodge for breakfast. You will have some free time at leisure to explore the surrounding areas or nearby village before an afternoon boat cruise along the river to see the many species of flora and fauna that lie in the rainforest.

Day 7: Abai to Gaya Island
After breakfast, take your final river cruise back to Sandakan where you will have lunch before being transferred to Sandakan airport for your flight back to Kota Kinabalu. On arrival, you will be met and transferred by speedboat to Gaya Island Resort where you will be staying for 5 nights with breakfast included as well as the following complimentary excursions:
– A guided nature walk with the resident naturalist
– A guided snorkelling expedition
– A mangrove kayak excursions

Day 8 to 11: Gaya Island
Four full days to relax and enjoy Gaya Island. The resort is in a protected marine park and bordered by ancient rainforest. Kick-back and enjoy the beautiful beach and warm waters or head out to the mangrove forest to spot more primates, flying squirrels or bearded pigs, kayak through the mangroves, learn about the flora and fauna. Look out for turtles with a guided snorkelling tour of the protected coral reefs. Whether it’s relaxation or activities, Gaya Island will be the perfect end to your Borneo Honeymoon.

Day 12: Gaya Island to the UK
After a final morning to relax on the island, take the speedboat back to Jesselton Jetty where you will be met and transferred to Kota Kinabalu airport for your return flight to London.
