DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: UK to Kota Kinabalu
Fly from London to Kota Kinabalu, via Kuala Lumpur.

Day 2: Kota Kinabalu
On arrival into Kota Kinabalu you will be privately transferred to the Shangri-la Tanjung Aru where you will for 2 nights with breakfast included. Day 3: Kota Kinabalu
Today you’ll have a chance to relax and recover from your travels. You could head into Kota Kinabalu to explore the city or head to the markets. Or do let us know if you would be interested in a day trip to Mount Kinabalu, a countryside cycling tour or, for the more adventurous, a white water rafting adventure!

Day 4: Kota Kinabalu to the Danum Valley
After breakfast you will be privately transferred to Kota Kinabalu Airport for your flight to Lahad Dhatu. You will then be transferred overland to the luxury Borneo Rainforest Lodge where you will be staying for 2 nights with all meals and activities included. On the edge of 438 sq. km of undisturbed lowland rainforest, Borneo’s most luxurious jungle lodge is home to the full range of Sabah’s lowland fauna, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Elephants, Clouded Leopards, and Orang Utans. Enjoy an afternoon walk along the trails and up in the canopy walk, and an exhilarating night spotlighting tour in an open-top 4WD vehicle.

Day 5: Danum Valley
Taking a packed breakfast, you will walk to a 200-year-old Kadazandusun Burial Site along the 2.6km View Point Trail. You’ll stop at the waterfalls to enjoy a refreshing dip in the pools below on the way back to your lodge for your delicious lunch. Explore the series of tracks leading around the Canopy Walk, or any of the optional activities available at the lodge including rainforest walks, bird watching, canopy walks and river tubing.The guides here are some of the best in the country, and will enhance your stay with their knowledge and passion for the rainforest and its inhabitants. After dinner, venture into the jungle on foot with a local guide to spot a stunning array of wildlife.

Day 6: Danum to Bunga Raya
After a guided morning walk you will be transferred to Lahad Datu airport for your onward flight to Kota Kinabalu. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the jetty for  your boat to  the gorgeous Gaya Island. You will be spending your last 7 nights at Bunga Raya Resort in a Private Plunge Pool Villa with breakfast and non-motorized water sports included. Cocooned in pristine rainforest, this award-winning, secluded resort features 48 timber villas in traditional Bornean architecture overlooking a beautiful, sweeping white-sand beach. 

Days 7-12: Bunga Raya
Six full days to enjoy this beautiful beach, relax by the pool and enjoy the surrounding area. With a wealth of coral reefs for diving, indigenous flora and fauna for guided nature walks, and plenty of water sports and an award-winning spa you will have an amazing time. Kayaking, paddle boating, snorkeling and paddle boarding are included in your stay.

Day 13: Bunga Raya to the UK
You will have most of the day to continue enjoying the beach before being transferred by boat and car to the airport for your return flights to the UK. We can also provide holidays without flights if you prefer.
