Take a Laos tour with us and we can show you all the best bits and more! Sitting on the banks of the Mekong River, your adventure could start in Vientiane. The city is immersed in history, where you’ll find a mix of traditional Lao culture, French influence, and modern architecture. Head to the unique Buddha Park, where you can wander through over 200 sculptures set in tranquil gardens overlooking the river, visit the COPE centre to learn about what the people of Laos had to endure through the Vietnam war, and head to the Night Market for a spot of souvenir shopping.
You could then head north to Vang Vieng, which is known for its stunning natural landscapes of limestone mountains, lush greenery and the Nam Song River. Explore the impressive stalactite formations of the Tham Nam and Tham Phu Kham caves, kayak down the river past mountains and locals going about their day-to-day life, take a refreshing swim in the turquoise blue water at the Blue Lagoon, or for something more adventurous, hike up to the Nam Xay Viewpoint and enjoy panoramic views at the top. As well as the beautiful scenery, you’ll fall in love with the laid-back atmosphere of this Lao town!
Further north is the UNESCO World Heritage city of Luang Prabang, known as the Ancient City. Enjoy leisurely strolls through the charming streets as you pass stunning architecture and head to one of the riverside restaurants to enjoy a sundowner as the sun sets. If you’re an early riser, you could get up for the morning ritual of the local monks where you can give them food offerings – a truly stunning once in a lifetime opportunity. Visit the morning market, wander to the Royal Palace Museum or the Old Quarter, and make sure you head to the Kuang Si Waterfalls – a multi-tiered waterfall with turquoise pools and a beautiful spot for swimming.
Other popular destinations in Laos include the stunning 4,000 Islands archipelago, the ancient ‘Plain of Jars’ and Champasak – known for its natural beauty, cultural attractions and stunning waterfalls in the Bolaven Plateau. You could also combine a trip to Laos with another destination – heading to Cambodia or Thailand as well can make for an even more incredible trip!

Just like its surrounding countries in terms of weather, Laos is no different when it comes to being split between the wet and the dry season.
Peak and dry season is between November and April, though like Cambodia, November to February is a much more comfortable heat and looked at as the cool season. Making this the perfect time to explore the Mekong River and Bolaven Plateau as the rivers has risen.
March and April, though dry, are extremely hot and if that’s fine for you then this is a perfect time to go but if the heat is too much then the good thing about Laos is that you can travel further north and you will find it cools down due to the mountains.

Normally known as short and sharp and more common in the afternoon, you are still able to enjoy the country as you just plan your day around it with the biggest bonus being no matter how wet it is your never really be cold!!
