Madagascar offers a fantastic family holiday opportunity that mixes adventure, exploration of different forests, rocks formations and caves; spotting a variety of wierd and wonderful wildlife including many different lemur species and a fascinating insight into the Malagasy culture. Getting around can involve longer journeys but as Madagascar is like no other country on earth this will be a holiday that your family will remember forever. For younger families who’d like less travel, Madagascar is a good option for a family beach holiday with a difference, fringed with rainforest and the odd lemur.
Planning Family Holidays
There's an art and a bit more of a challenge to designing the perfect family holiday. And we love a holiday challenge! We design each holiday from scratch so our starting point will be the make-up of your family, what you each enjoy, the age of your children and any hobbies or current fascinations. We also love hearing about where you have enjoyed visiting together on past holidays. Using this information we will pull together a trip perfectly tailored to your family with each detail thought through ... leaving you to just focus on the packing!
As well as experience of planning family holidays for our clients, some of the team have extremely well-travelled children who have helped steer the way that we design family holidays! We think the best family holidays are about getting the right mix of activities, sights and relaxation, keeping a close eye on journey times between areas and getting the order spot-on. Unless you have children with a super-keen interest in international culture and history, we also tend to find that mixing-in alternative ideas with being guided around a temple or museum works a treat - for example, cycling tours rather than walking, getting dressed-up in the local attire, a short cookery course in a local house. There's often so much you want to see in a destination but we'd say that travelling with children, more than 5 stops in 2 weeks turns an amazing holiday into a bit of a whinge fest! We tend to suggest saving the relaxing part of a family holiday to the end of the trip and make this the longest stay so that the whole family can just kick-back and relax together and ponder all their new experiences before heading home.

An absolutely amazing holiday. We were lucky to have some of the best wildlife experiences ever, including a cheetah kill and seeing her bring her cubs over to consume the kill – mesmerising. Then the migration and crossings were incredible to witness. And everyone welcomed the kids with open arms and treated them brilliantly despite their fussy eating!
