DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: UK to Kuala Lumpur
Fly from London to Kuala Lumpur.

Day 2: Kuala Lumpur
On arrival you will be met and transferred to The Majestic Hotel to spend 2 nights. Superbly located in Kuala Lumpur’s historical mile, The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur is one of the city’s great colonial landmarks, providing effortless style and lavish facilities for a luxurious stay. Welcome to Malaysia!

Day 3: Kuala Lumpur
Free day to enjoy the city. There is plenty to see and do; Malaysia’s capital is packed with historic monuments, lush parks and bustling street markets.
Late afternoon you will be collected for your KL Food & Heritage Tour. Fancy trying a new and delicious local dish? Then embark on this gastronomical journey of discovery that allows you to sample some of Malaysia’s most famous dishes, all within walking distance and with the help of a local food guide. Among some of the dishes that you may choose to sample are, Nasi Lemak, Cendol, Roti Canai, Hokkien Mee, Grilled Fish and Chee Cheong Fan.

Day 4: Sandakan to Sepilok
This morning you will head back to the airport for your flight to Sandakan. On arrival you will be transferred to Sepilok to stay for 2 nights at My Nature Resort. Set on the edge of the tropical rainforest, MY Nature Resort is ideally located within walking distance of the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Welcome to Borneo!

Day 5: Sepilok
This morning we recommend that you head to the Rainforest Discovery Centre visiting the canopy towers connected by walkways to give you a bird’s-eye view of the rooftops of the trees. You could also add-on a trip to Labuk Bay to the Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary located at the centre of a mangrove forest with around 300 wild monkeys. 

Day 6: Sepilok to Kinabatangan
This morning you will visit the world’s largest orangutan rehabilitation centre at Sepilok as well as the Sun Bear Conservation Centre. You will then cruise to Sabah’s mighty Kinabatangan River to Abai Jungle Lodge where you will be staying for 1 night with all meals included. Abai Jungle Lodge provides a rustic, rural setting, deep within the interior of Sabah with an abundance of wildlife to be found right on your doorstep. In the afternoon you will enjoy a guided river safari in search of pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, orangutans and more! Days 7 & 8: Kinabatangan
Wake up early for an unmissable morning cruise on the Kinabatangan River. Watch the jungle slowly waking up in the mist and enjoy the wildlife search. Later today you will head further into the jungle to stay at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge for 2 nights with all meals included. This is a wonderful, laid back base from which to explore the Kinabatangan River and the surrounding nature trails. You will spend the next two days enjoying river safari cruises to track wildlife in the mornings and afternoons.

Day 9: Kinabatangan to Gaya Island
Today you will be transferred back to Sandakan to check-in for your flight to Kota Kinabalu where you will be met and transferred to the jetty for  your boat to  the gorgeous Gaya Island. You will be spending your last 5 nights at Gaya Island Resort with breakfast included. You will also have included a rainforest walk with the resident naturalist, a guided snorkelling exploration and a mangrove kayak excursion. Set within a marine park with a golden beach and backed by lush rainforest, Gaya Island Resort is the perfect luxurious beach retreat to kick-back after your tour of Borneo.

Days 10-13: Gaya Island
Four full days to enjoy this beautiful beach, relax by the pool and enjoy the surrounding area. Day 14: Gaya to UK
You will have most of the day to continue enjoying the beach before being transferred by boat and car to the airport for your return flights to the UK.
