DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: UK to Delhi
Fly overnight from the UK to Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi
On arrival you will be met by your driver/guide and transferred in your private vehicle into New Delhi where you will spend 2 nights at Haveli Hauz Khas – run by husband and wife team Neelu & Teji, this highly rated boutique heritage homestay is your oasis in Delhi. Welcome to India!
Day 3: Delhi
This morning you will be collected by your driver and a specialist Delhi guide for your private tour of New and Old Delhi, including the Jama Masjid (one of the largest mosques in India), a rickshaw ride through the bustling markets of Chandni Chowk and the impressive Humayun’s Tomb.
Day 4: Delhi to Ramathra
After a relaxing morning you will be transferred to the station to board the Kota Janshatabdi Express (4hrs) to Gangapur, where you will be met by our team and transferred to Ramathra Fort to spend 2 nights. An owner run Sundowner favourite, this unique heritage property has a beautiful setting, a fascinating history, and a great selection of rural activities – we love it! Day 5: Ramathra
Full day to enjoy Ramathra Fort. Activities include walking tours of Ramathra village, sunset boat trips on the dam, cart rides, bird watching, picnics at the lake, cooking demos, day trips to the bazaars and temples of Karauli, wilderness drives and wildlife night drives.
Day 6: Ramathra to Bundi
Today you will travel to the poetic city of Bundi with its ornate forts, palaces and stepwell reservoirs to spend 1 night at Dev Niwas, a 300 year old Haveli with stunning views over the city. This afternoon you will enjoy a guided tour of the impressive Taragarh Fort built in 1354 and Bundi Palace with its abundant frescoes. Our guides are extremely knowledgeable. Day 7: Bundi to Shahpura
Continuing into the heart of Rajasthan you will head to Shahpura Bagh where you will spend 2 nights in this elegant oasis in the Rajasthani countryside offering beautiful accommodation, first class hospitality, a stunning setting and a great selection of local activities – definitely another Sundowner favourite!
Day 8: Shahpura
Full day to enjoy Shahpura Bagh. Activities include excursions to Dhikhola village, boat excursions on the lakes, village walks, farm visits, trips to the markets in Shahpura and a fantastic hike to the famous tribal temple.
Day 9: Shahpura to Udaipur
After a sumptuous breakfast you will drive to the outskirts of the beautiful lake city of Udaipur to end your journey with 3 nights at the stylish Bujera Fort, a boutique country retreat in the Aravali Hills. Built purely along traditional lines with strong eco credentials and beautifully designed throughout, it is the inspired creation of interior designer and owners Richard Hanlon and Trish McFarlane. Day 10: Udaipur
This morning you will be collected by your driver and a specialist guide for your private tour of Udaipur, including the City Palace, beautiful gardens of Saheliyon-ki-Bari and the Jagdish Temple. You will also have time this afternoon to explore the winding streets of the old town.
Day 11: Udaipur
Free day to enjoy Bujera. You will probably want to relax in this beautiful property, have a dip in the pool and stroll into the village. Alternatively, you may want to head back into Udaipur to shop at the markets and enjoy a Sundowner moment overlooking Lake Pichola.
Day 12: Udaipur to UK
After one last lake-view morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your short flight back to Delhi. On arrival you will connect with your onward flight to the UK. Want to spend some more time in India? Get in touch to chat through some other stops you could head to before you go home.

Our tour of Kerala was perfect in every way, we decided to go with a private driver who stayed with us for the whole trip – we found this a more relaxed way to travel.
