Situated only 3kms from the City Palace and markets of Old Jaipur, Dera Mandawa is ideally located close to the main attractions of the Pink City but step through the pole (entranceway) to the haveli and you are transported into an oasis of calm, far removed from the bustling city streets of Jaipur.

Built over 125 years ago by Thakur Jait Singhji of Mandawa and now the home to his great grandson, Thakur Durga Singh, the family residence has been converted into a welcoming boutique hotel with 9 characterful suites, a relaxing terrace area which is also excellent for kite-flying and the lovely central courtyard & garden which is perfect for enjoying a delicious home cooked al fresco dinner!

Durga’s wife, Thakurani Usha Kumari, offers exceptional hands on cooking classes at Dera Mandawa where guests get the opportunity to make chapatis and delicious Rajasthani dishes not easily found in a cook book – a highlight is Gaj Ka Sula, sumptuous kebabs cooked on the often fire (often the traditional way using cow dung fires). Following the class you can then choose to have dinner with your charming hosts to round off a wonderful experience!
