Located in remote eastern Rajasthan, between the national parks of Ranthambore & Keoladeo, Ramathra Fort sits on a hilltop with spectacular views of Kalisil Lake and the surrounding countryside. Brick by brick the unique fortress has been restored using local materials and local artisans & workmen, ensuring the style is totally in line with its grand history, whilst also offering the comforts of a cool boutique hotel.

The 6 spacious tents at Ramathra Fort are scattered around the perimeter of the garden inside the ramparts and are decorated with geese block printed fabrics and modern, comfortable furniture. Each tent has access to the ramparts behind it where daybeds are placed for guests’ use. The 6 rooms and suites are then on the first and second floor of the main fort and are large, light and airy. The suites have a large sitting room, balcony, a cosy fireplace and an outdoor tub and shower looking out over the hills!

A stay at Ramathra offers the chance to experience the great outdoors and ‘village India ‘ at its best! Activities include walking tours of Ramathra village, sunset boat trips on the dam, bird watching, horse-riding, cycling, picnics at the lake, cooking demos, day trips to the bazaars and temples of Karauli, wilderness drives, wildlife night drives and more….
