DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: UK to Ho Chi Minh City
Fly overnight from the UK to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City
Arriving in style you will transfer into Hoi Chi Minh City, taking to the river for your speedboat transfer to the chic Villa Song Saigon. Your base for the next 2 nights, this firm Sundowner favourite is the epitome of a stylish boutique retreat that oozes class, style and impeccable service. Allowing you to relax into your holiday, this evening you will head into the buzzing streets of the city to sample the culinary delights of Vietnam on a street food tour.

Days 3: Ho Chi Minh City
This morning you will be collected by boat as you start your half day tour with a romantic breakfast cruise along the waterways of Saigon. Switching to dry land you will be guided through the bustling streets of the city as you discover famous ancient monuments hidden amongst the modern skyscrapers of Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 4: Hoi An
Heading north by plane to Da Nang you will head to the enchanting port town of Hoi An to soak up its charm, culture and delicious cuisine with 4 nights at the luxurious Hotel Royal Hoi An. This evening you will ride pillion on Vintage Vespas as you scoot around the ancient streets on a “streets & eats” tour, stopping to sample delicious fried wontons and banh flan (Vietnamese creme caramel)!

Day 5 & 6: Hoi An
For your first 2 days in Hoi An you will enjoy two half-day tours, firstly heading into the countryside to the ancient UNESCO temples of My Son. The next day you will enjoy a culinary adventure at the Red Bridge Cooking School, visiting the local market to buy fresh ingredients before being let loose in the kitchen.

Day 7: Hoi An
Free day to soak up all that Hoi An has to offer. You may want to take a complimentary bike from your hotel to explore the shops and markets of the Ancient Town, perhaps head to the Hoi An coast for some beach time or simply wander with your camera to capture some of the magic of Hoi An. Alternatively we can arrange boat tours, cycling tours, farm visits and even a spot of lantern making…

Day 8: Hue
A stunning drive today through the Hai Van Pass, also known as the Pass of Ocean Clouds, and the picturesque fishing village of Lang Co will bring you to the ancient capital, Hue. You will then spend 2 nights in the chic colonial grandeur of La Residence, on the banks of the Perfume River.

Day 9: Hue
Following in the footsteps of the Emperors your fascinating morning tour will take you by cyclo rickshaw through the Old City to the colourful Tay Loc Market as you visit Citadels, Monasteries, Pagodas and the City’s Ancient Arena (once famed for its elephant & tiger duels). Free afternoon to explore Hue or relax at La Residence.

Day 10 – Halong (Lan Ha Bay)
Flying north to the capital, Hanoi, you will transfer 2hrs south to board the 3 day (2 night) Orchid Cruise, an intimate luxury Junk boat with only 14 cabins that visits some of the more remote regions of Halong Bay. Heading to the pristine Lan Ha Bay with its 400 islands you will be rewarded with pristine beaches and amazing limestone karst formations as you kayak, swim and cruise this incredible region of Vietnam!

Day 11: Halong (Bui Tu Long Bay)
Start your morning with some Tai Chi on the sundeck! Another incredible day awaits as you take to land to cycle through local villages before cruising on to Bai Tu Long Bay for more swimming and exploration by kayak. End an unforgettable day with a cooking class, sunset over the Bay of Tonkin, a romantic dinner and a night cap at the top deck bar overlooking Halong Bay.

Day 12: Hanoi
Enjoy sunrise over the bays, optional Tai Chi on the sundeck and your last breakfast on the Orchid before heading back to land and onto your last stop, Hanoi, where you will spend 2 nights at the perfectly located MK Premier Boutique Hotel, right in the middle of the old quarter.  This evening enjoy a walking street food tour as you sample a range of dishes such as pho bo (beef noodle soup), bun cha (grilled pork with vermicelli) and che (sweet soup) that are rooted in the culinary culture of Vietnam’s capital!

Day 13: Hanoi
Wake up with Hanoi at sunrise as you witness the early morning buzz of the city with the local Long Bien market, have a traditional Vietnamese breakfast, join in a traditional Tai chi at Hoan Kiem Lake and finish your morning with a cup of perfect Vietnamese coffee. You will have the rest of the day and evening free to enjoy your last full night in the city. Day 14: Hanoi to UK
Enjoy a relaxing last morning wandering the markets of Hanoi before heading in the early evening to Hanoi International Airport for your overnight flight back to the UK (via Bangkok).
