DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: UK to Delhi
Fly overnight from the UK to Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi
On arrival you will be met by your driver/guide and transferred in your private vehicle to Old Delhi where you will spend 2 nights at The Maidens, a classy heritage property established in 1903 as one of the first hotels in Delhi – don’t miss a cocktail at the Cavalry Bar.

Day 3: Delhi
This morning you will be collected by your driver and a specialist Delhi guide for your private tour of New and Old Delhi, including the Jama Masjid (one of the largest mosques in India), a rickshaw ride through the bustling markets of Chandni Chowk and the impressive Humayun’s Tomb. Day 4: Delhi to Varanasi
Today you will head back to the airport for your short flight to Varanasi, where you will spend 2 nights on the River Ganges at the Suryauday Haveli which was originally built by the Royal Family of Nepal as a retreat. This fantastic location on the ghats is reached by an incredible 15 minute boat ride along the Holy River.

Later this evening you will be taken to witness the mesmerising ‘aarati’ by the banks of the Ganges.

Day 5: Varanasi
Early this morning you will enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the River Ganges, a wonderful opportunity to see this holy city come to life! You will then continue on foot for a guided walking tour of the old town with its winding streets, shops and hidden shrines. Don’t forget your cameras!

Day 6: Varanasi to Panna (via Khajuraho)
Following a final breakfast overlooking the Ganges you will fly south to Khajuraho where you will be collected by a local specialist guide for your tour of the magnificent Khajuraho Temple complex. You will then continue into the countryside to spend a blissful 3 nights at the Sarai at Toria, an owner run eco lodge in a beautiful river setting with a firm focus on nature, relaxation and yummy food! 

Day 7 & 8: Panna
Two full days to enjoy Sarai at Toria with your chaming hosts, Raghu and Joanna.  We highly recommend an early morning boat ride on the Ken River, a birding walk and further afield the rarely visited hilltop fort of Ajaygarh. Sarai at Toria is packed with activities so call us to find out more.

Day 9: Panna to Bandhavgarh NP
With heavy hearts you will say goodbye to Sarai at Toria and head 5 hours south, deep into tiger country to the Bandhavgarh National Park where you will spend 3 nights at the Tree House Hideaway, a romantic safari retreat with wonderful canopy rooms and fantastic staff & guides.

Free afternoon to cycling or walk into the local villages.

Day 10 & 11: Bandhavgarh National Park
Two days of exciting morning & afternoon 4×4 jeep safaris in the park! As well as being one of the best places in India to see the mighty tiger, the park contains more than 20 species of mammal and over 250 species of birds.

Day 12: Bandhavgarh NP to Delhi
This morning you will drive to Jabalpur Airpirt for your short flight back to the capital. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Novotel for an afternoon of leisure, or perhaps some last-minute shopping before a comfortable sleep for your final night in India.

Day 13: Delhi to UK
After your last breakfast in India you will be transferred back to the International Airport for your flight back to the UK.
