Flatdogs Camp is located on the banks of the Luangwa River, overlooking the South Luangwa National Park, so with easy access into the game rich Mfuwe region of the park guests can enjoy wildlife packed morning & night 4×4 game drives and expertly led walking safaris (May to October). The full day game drives with picnic lunches also prove very popular!

In camp there are different accommodation options at Flatdogs, either dotted along the banks of the Luangwa River or hidden away in the lush woodlands of camp. Starting with an under canvas experience are the en suite safari tents, with 3 standard tents and 7 larger luxury tents which are definitely worth the small upgrade due to their riverbank location. Or if you prefer some bricks and mortar there are also 7 comfy stone chalet rooms set back from the river, including a family chalet with 2 bedrooms and a fantastic game viewing loft which can also act as a third bedroom.

The flagship accommodation options in camp are the wonderful Jackalberry Tree house which consists of 3 large wooden decks which are 8 feet off the ground and house a comfy game viewing & chill deck with large floor cushions and 2 bedrooms both with open air bathrooms! New in 2015 Flatdogs also launched the Crocs Nest, a stunning tented house with 2 bedrooms, a large lounge and huge private deck with pool overlooking the Luangwa River!

At the heart of Flatdogs Camp is the social hub, containing the excellent a la carte restaurant which has a relaxed approach with no set meal times and offers delicious meals, prepared with fresh ingredients sourced from the camp garden and local villages. The welcoming bar also acts as the main meeting spot for guests to exchange safari tales and enjoy a cold Mosi beer.

For those seeking relaxation or some quiet time looking out for wildlife there is plenty of space in camp with a highly refreshing swimming pool with sun loungers and plenty of shady trees by the river to sit and listen to the hippos honking!
