DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: London to Cape Town
Fly overnight from the UK to Cape Town.
Day 2: Cape Town
On arrival into Cape Town you will collect your hire car and drive into the city where you will spend your first 3 nights at Parker Cottage, this historic property is two magnificent Victorian houses joined together. The cottage offers a relaxed and personalised retreat whilst being within easy distance of the cultural city.
Days 3&4: Cape Town
Two free days to explore Cape Town. We highly recommend taking one of the best coastal drives in the world along the Cape Peninsula! If you need help arranging excursions we have bags of ideas – kayaking adventures, historical tours, 4×4 dune adventures, helicopter flights and more. Take a look at our Cape Town Guide.
Day 5: Cape Town to the Cape Winelands
Leaving this morning you will drive into the Cape Winelands, heading to the stunning Franschhoek Valley to spend 3 nights at the Plumwood Inn, with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, this family-run guesthouse is in the perfect location to enjoy the finest wining and dining in the country. Days 6&7: Franschhoek, Winelands
Two free days to explore and indulge in the Cape Winelands. The village of Franschhoek is all about the delicious food and wine with numerous award-winning restaurants and wine estates on your doorstep. The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on/hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley.
Day 8: Cape Town to Victoria Falls
This morning you will drive back to Cape Town Airport, and catch a flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival you will be transferred to Batonka Guest Lodge to spend 2 nights, a tranquil heaven away from the bustle of the city, this lodge provides a spacious room with beautiful surroundings and welcoming staff.
Day 9: Victoria Falls
A full day to enjoy the Falls and the many activities it has to offer. Why not try microlight flights, hikes, rhino encounters, canoe safaris, helicopter rides or white-water rafting! Ask us what we would recommend based on what you like.
Day 10: Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park
A train safari!!! This morning you will board the Elephant Express Railcar for part of your journey to Hwange National Park to spend 3 nights at Bomani Tented Lodge. Famous for its massive herds if elephants, Bomani is situated in a private concession on the magnificent Ngamo Plain on the edge of a remote and unspoilt corner of Hwange National Park. Day 11&12: Hwange National Park
Two full days to enjoy one of the best parks in Africa! With lots of cats, big elephant herds and potentially African wild dogs, why don’t you enjoy some game drives, walking safaris and night drives.
Day 13: Victoria Falls to the UK
After a final breakfast in the bush you will be transferred back to Victoria Falls Airport to check in for your flight back to the UK

Her suggestions were amazing, our expectations were pretty high to begin with, but were massively exceeded in each place without exception. The selection of accommodation was exactly what we would have chosen from colonial Elephant house to coastal Lavender Manor. The fab boutique hotel in Cape Town was a great location for New Year celebrations and the trip to Franschoek and the winelands fabulous, not just the wine hic hic but the journey there and the spectacular scenery on the drive over.

From the minute we checked in at the Emirates desk to the minute we landed back in the UK, everything was perfect. Our accommodation was WOW, our transfer drivers and trips were WOW. I don’t want to share where we stayed because they were so special and if we want to go back, I don’t want to find them unavailable!!!

We can honestly say it was the best holiday we have ever had. The small boutique guest houses were all amazing and certainly gave us a real flavour of the country. We drove to Cape Town where our lovely hotel was a perfect base to explore this beautiful place and beaches along with all the sights.

We loved the safari in Zambia. Such brilliant, friendly guides. The diving at Thonga was another favourite because of the colours and variety of sea life. All in all, it was a great fun, exciting, informative and relaxing holiday.

We just wanted to say thank you for organising such a wonderful holiday for us. We had such an amazing 10 days and everything went just as planned. We would highly recommend James to our friends and the order that we visited each place was perfect. We were lucky in Cape Town as one of the days was warm and sunny so we were able to get up to Table Mountain before we left for Hermanus. We also braved great white shark cage diving and saw plenty of whales on our lovely walk along the Hermanus coastal path.

The honeymoon was fantastic. The best experience. Everything went to plan no problems. The Cape Town car hire was a fantastic recommendation that meant we got to go everywhere. Garonga was just perfect. Accommodation outstanding and Food and service 5*. The highlight…. an encounter with a leopard on safari one morning, got the heart pumping slightly.
