DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: UK to  San Jose 
Fly from the UK to San Jose. On arrival you will be privately transferred to the outskirts of San Jose, Alajuela, where you will spend 2 nights at Buena Vista Hotel. Set within 2.5 acres of tropical gardens with beautiful views of the volcanoes, Buena Vista is the perfect spot to enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica within 15 minutes of the airport! With just thirty rooms, on site nature trails, a great restaurant and fantastic staff you can be assured of a lovely start to your holiday..

Day 2: Coffee, Volcanoes & Waterfalls 
Today you will head on a group guided tour. Your first stop is the Doka Estate, one of the oldest coffee estates in Costa Rica. Next, you’ll head to the Poas Volcano with its  impressive main crater and sulphur fumaroles. Continue your tour with a visit to La Paz Waterfall Gardens heading on a trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest.

Day 3: San Jose to the Rainforest near Arenal
Today you’ll be transferred to the rainforest to stay in a fantastic rustic eco-lodge – Finca Lune Nueva – for 3 nights. A biodynamic farm growing organic foods, Luna Nueva also protects large tracts of primary rainforest and a vast garden of medicinal plants in a remarkable conservation project. You are 30 minutes away from Arenal with spectacular views, excellent staff, organic food and wildlife all around.

Day 4: Arenal
Today you’ll experience a family adventure in the midst of the rainforest. Zip;line across valleys and jungles with magnificent views of the Arenal volcano, this will certainly make great memories. Day 5: Arenal
Today you have a full day at leisure. You can arrange another tour for you and your family. Or alternatively head on a chocolate tour at Finca Luna Nueva, wander one of the many trails or have a family day splashing in their lovely large pool. 

Day 6: Arenal to Monteverde
This morning you’ll be transferred by road and boat across to the other side of the Arenal lake where you’ll head towards the hills of Monteverde Cloud Forest. Spend 2 nights in a chalet at Los Pinos. Just on the edge of town, you can wander in to explore but equally feel close to the cloud forest.

Day 7: Monteverde
Full day at leisure. You can explore this incredibly rich biodiverse cloud forest by foot or on horseback, a trip to the Frog Pond is not to be missed. Spot the famous “Blue Jeans” frog or the “Red eye frog” – and make sure don’t forget your camera! Day 8: Monteverde to the beach
This morning you’ll wave goodbye to clouds and say hello to sunshine as you’re transferred to the coast of Potrero where you’ll spend 4 nights at Bahia del Sol. Located right on a beautiful beach in Costa Rica, you are in the perfect location to relax and recharge after your adventure so far. Swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Pacific Ocean is a great way to begin your beach break.

Days 09 to 11: Potrero
You have three days to enjoy this vibrant beach area. Snorkelling, catamaran sailing, horseback riding, hiking, surfing, scuba diving, mountain biking and sport-fishing – the choices here are endless but we won’t hold it against you if you decide to hit the hammock or choose massages and yoga classes to soak up the beach life instead. Day 12: Potrero to the UK
This morning you will be transferred to Liberia or San Jose airport for your flight to the UK .
