Tour itinerary
Arrival & Amber Mountain National Park
Fly from the UK to Antananarivo (via Paris).
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred for an overnight stay with breakfast included at Au Bois Vert, a rustic retreat with traditional bungalows, it also has a botanical garden you can explore – a little slice of peace!
On day 2, you will return to the airport and fly north to Diego Suarez where you will be met and taken to Nature Lodge for 2 nights with breakfast included. A small eco lodge, it offers beautiful views over the 3 bays of Diego Suarez.
With your expert guide, head out on day 3 to explore Amber Mountain’s rainforest trails, waterfalls, and wildlife, including seven lemur species and some of the world’s tiniest chameleons.
Red tsingy – caves & dry forest lemurs
Travel to Ankarana Reserve today, stopping to admire the dramatic Red Tsingy formations along the way. You will then continue to Ankarana Lodge, a comfortable retreat set close to the reserve, where you will stay for 2 nights with half board included. This afternoon, begin exploring the reserve with your expert guide, keeping an eye out for the area’s many lemur species and unique wildlife.
On day 5, continue your exploration of Ankarana by visiting the eastern side of the reserve. Discover vast underground cave systems inhabited by bats, blind shrimp and crocodiles, while learning about the fascinating geology that has shaped this remarkable landscape. Return to Ankarana Lodge later this afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening.
Beach time, black lemurs, snorkelling & hiking
You will head south today to board a boat over to the Nosy Be Archipelago where you will head to Nosy Komba. There, you will have 5 nights on a half-board basis at 293 on Komba for barefoot island living. With friendly staff and without the hoards of tourists, enjoy a peaceful dip in the infinity pool, or sit out on your private terrace and soak up the views.
You will now have 4 full days at leisure to swim in warm turquoise waters, visit local villages, snorkel with tropical fish, visit the local black Macaco lemurs, or simply relax with a good book and ocean view.
On day 11, you will travel back to Nosy Be, fly to the capital, and refresh with a day room at Au Bois Vert (if needed) before your overnight flight home.
