Tour itinerary

Days 1 - 4:

Escape the UK and head to Nairobi to start your journey in the Maasai Mara!

Fly overnight from the UK to Nairobi (direct).

Upon arrival on day 2, you’ll be met and transferred to Wilson Domestic Airport for your light aircraft flight into the Maasai Mara. You’ll spend 3 nights on a full-board basis at Basecamp Masai Mara, an award-winning 17-tent eco camp on the Talek River. Deeply rooted in community and conservation, this is a brilliant base to explore the Mara in a meaningful, low-impact way.

Days 3 & 4 will be full days spent on safari! An incredible game viewing area, you will head out on 4×4 game drives with your expert Maasai guides. The Mara is perhaps best known for the Great Migration, which takes place every year from late June to October/November. During these months the yellow savannah is dotted black by more than 1.5 million wildebeest, zebra and antelopes that migrate from the Serengeti to the Mara.

Days 5 & 6:

From wildlife adventures to tropical paradise — welcome to Zanzibar!

After a final morning drive in the Mara and breakfast at the camp, you’ll fly to Nairobi. You’ll stop for lunch, before you continue to Zanzibar. On arrival you will be met and taken to Stone Town where you will stay for 1 night with breakfast included at Kholle House, a charming boutique hotel filled with Princess Kholle’s treasured antiques.

You will have a morning at leisure on day 6 where you can stay at the hotel, or take a stroll along the ancient streets of Stone Town. Later today, you will be met and transferred to spend your final 6 nights with breakfast included at Pongwe Beach Lodge, an extremely popular, super laid back lodge with friendly staff, great food and a beautiful secluded beach.

Days 7 - 12:

Relaxation and adventure on Zanzibar’s coast, before you fly home

Five full days to relax and enjoy this stunning part of Zanzibar. At Pongwe, you can enjoy:

  • Complimentary kayaking, mountain biking, stand-up paddleboards
  • Snorkelling and fishing tours
  • Scuba diving
  • Jeep hire

You can take part in yoga and fitness classes if you wish, or simply enjoy some time by the pool or on the beach.

Enjoy a final morning on day 12 relaxing, before you are transferred back to Zanzibar to connect with your flight back to the UK.
