DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: UK to  San Jose 
Fly from the UK to San Jose.
On arrival you will be met & transferred in your private vehicle into the heart of San Jose where you will spend 1 night in the luxury Grano de Oro Hotel. This classy, elegant hotel is short walk away from an array of restaurants, historic sites and art galleries. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure exploring the local area or head to the roof top bar and enjoy your first sundowner while taking in the views of San Jose from high above.

Day 2: San Jose to Turrialba
This morning you will be collected for your shared transfers to the area of Turrialba where you will spend 3 nights in one of the National Geographic Unique Lodges – Pacuare Lodge. This first class ecolodge is surrounded by stunning views of the rainforest. Begin your stay at the lodge with a spa treatment at a local spa – Sundowner special – $50 spa credit per room.

Days 3 & 4: Turialba
You have two free days to fully enjoy this excellent lodge and its surrounding area. You can enjoy 2 included tours per day including a canopy tour through the stunning scenery, hiking tour through the jungle with an experience guide, water rafting on the famous Pacuare river, horseback-riding tours and much more. Day 5: Turialba to Bajos del Toro
Today you will join your shared raft transfer & private transfer to Bajos del Toro, Central Valley.where you will spend 2 nights at the eco-chic El Silencio Lodge. Day 6: Bajos del Toro
Today you have a day at leisure. You can enjoy a complimentary Mystic Hike through the Hummingbird Garden and cloud forest trails. Alternatively, go wine tasting or join a waterfall hike to the stunning Las Gemelas waterfalls with an experienced guide. Foodies can book in for a cooking lesson with the chef who will introduce you to Costa Rica’s culinary favourites. Talk to us about the different options.

Day 7: Bajos del Toro to Arenal NP
This morning you will be transferred in a private vehicle to the Arenal Volcano National Park. You will be staying for 3 nights at the stylish Arenal Nayara Springs that is positioned on the flanks of the mighty Arenal Volcano. Voted as one of the world’s best resorts, this hotel provides not just an incredible location but also luxurious accommodation, impeccable service, a great spa and fine cuisine. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 8: Arenal
You have a full day of exploring this magnificent area, starting with a private trip in a Sky Tram to reach the highest top of Arenal reserve before beginning the adventurous Sky Walk Tour consisting of an impressive series of bridges and paths, bring binoculars!! You will then head on a gentle hike through the forest and old lava flows around Arenal Volcano, followed by a visit to the famous Tabacon hot springs where you can take a dip and relax.

Day 9: Arenal
This morning you start a private half day tour on the quiet waters of Penas Blancas River on inflatable rafts. Joined by an expert who will guide you through this biodiverse region and talk to you about local fauna & flora. Local residents such as sloths, monkeys, turtles, crocodiles and Jesus Christ Lizards might cross your way – cameras at ready! Afternoon at leisure

Days 10: Arenal to the Nicoya Peninsula
This morning you will be transferred by a private vehicle to San Jose to check in for your short domestic flight to Nicoya. On arrival you will be transferred to Santa Teresa where you will spend your last 4 nights at the award-winning Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas, an adults-only retreat of 21 romantic hillside villas with private plunge pools and breathtaking views of Costa Rica’s Guanacaste Coast.

Days 11 – 13 Las Catalinas
Three days to relax and explore. Today you will be transferred to Tambor Airstrip for your short flight to San Jose. On arrival you will connect with your International flight back to UK.
