We have just returned from celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with a fabulous three-week adventure in Laos and Thailand. This was our fifth holiday with Sundowner Holidays, and once again they provided perfectly located boutique hotels, great excursions, seamless connections, and knowledgeable guides. Our sincere thanks go to the whole team for putting this wonderful itinerary together. We look forward to planning our next trip!

Susan and Colin, Laos and Thailand

Our Laos trip was fantastic! We wandered through Luang Prabang’s temples, cruised the Mekong River, and swam at Kuang Si waterfalls. The hotels were comfortable, the guides friendly and knowledgeable, and everything ran smoothly. A holiday of a lifetime!

Fly from the UK to Bangkok directly.

Arriving in Bangkok on day 2, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred around 45 minutes to Ariyasom Villa where you will spend your first 3 nights with breakfast included. Located near the canals and surrounded by tropical gardens, this restored 1940s hotel features vintage charm, handwoven Thai silks, and a courtyard pool.

On day 3 you will have the morning at leisure, before you dive into a private guided tour this afternoon. Begin in Chinatown’s tea shops, then head to the Folk Museum and enjoy a longtail boat journey through the canals. Cruise past stilted homes and visit the temple of Wat Arun at sunset.

Day 4 begins with an early visit to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. As you glide along the water, soak up the atmosphere as locals and other tourists shop from their boats. You may even want to pick up a souvenir or two along the way yourself! This afternoon you can then relax back at your villa, or explore some more of the city at your own leisure.
