DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: UK to San Gerardo de Dota
Fly from the UK to San Jose.
On arrival into San Jose you’ll be privately transferred approx. 1.5 hours to Bajos del Toro cloud forest where you will stay for 4 nights in one of the most romantic eco lodges in this area – El Silencio. Floating in the clouds and surrounded by endless dense green rainforest, this lodge is all about privacy & luxury. Enjoy your private jacuzzi and a sundowner to celebrate the start of your holiday!

Day 2: Bajos del Toro
Enjoy a complimentary hike this morning with a local nature guide. Walk through the hummingbird garden and hidden paths & trails while looking out for the local residents such as monkeys, frogs and many others. Binoculars and cameras at the ready! Later this afternoon you’ll start a guided tour along the private paths of the cloud forest to find the impressive local waterfalls – fancy a dip?

Day 3: Bajos del Toro
Today is packed with experiences and fun! You will set off to Arenal to explore the local area & join a half day tour. You’ll start with crossing the hanging bridges that run across the dense forest and show off the natural beauty, look out for sloths! Later, you’ll visit La Fortuna waterfalls followed by a hike in the rainforest that leads to the lava view point. End your day in style and experience the Tabacon Hot Springs with a soak in the natural pools. Day 4: Bajos del Toro
You have two full days at leisure to explore this fascinating biodiverse area. The lodge can arrange a big variety of onsite and offsite activities. Choose from guided waterfall hikes, birdwatching tours, horseback riding along the slopes with the views of the Poas Volcano or Adventure tour that consists of ziplines over the forest canopy facing waterfalls. You could also join a cooking class at the local village and learn to palm fresh tortillas at Dona Olga’s home and much more. If you would prefer to take the luxury level down a step here and save money then let us know. This is just an idea of what we can do!

Day 5: Bajos del Toro to Tamarindo
This morning you’ll be transferred to the Pacific Coast where you’ll start the beach part of your holiday. You’ll spend 5 nights at the beautiful  Jardin del Eden. A quick walk to the beach and you find yourself surrounded by clear waters and the beautiful Tamarindo Bay. Make sure to enjoy a sundowner on the beach. Bliss! If you would prefer a more secluded beach spot in Costa Rica then let us know – we also know the best beach spots depending on the time of year you are travelling so do get in touch to tailor this honeymoon to you.

Day 6: Tamarindo
Today you’ll go for a half day kayaking and snorkelling tour. Enjoy your morning kayaking on the smooth blue waters of Tamarindo beach and once you reach Capitan Island you can enjoy snorkelling around the coral reefs that buzz with colours and plenty of exotic fish. The rest of your day is at leisure.

Day 7: Tamarindo
Today you will join a half day Tamarindo Mangrove and Estuary Tour on kayaks. Immerse yourself in the calm waters between the Tamarindo beach and Grande beach by heading out on a kayak. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure. The holiday includes a few different tours – ask us to change the tours to suit you.

Days 8&9: Tamarindo
Two full days at leisure to soak up the sun & hit the beach or explore the beautiful surroundings under your own steam. Your hotel offers some great activities to keep you entertained such as surfing, paddle boarding, massages, nature and marine tours and much more. Talk to us if you would like to arrange another tour.

Day 10: Tamarindo to San Jose
Today you’ll wave goodbye to Tamarindo and be transferred to the airport where you will catch a short domestic flight to the capital, San Jose. Here you’ll will check in for your flight back to the UK.

Day 11: Home
