Watch Java Wake Up Around the World’s Largest Buddhist Temple

An early morning at Borobudur gives you a chance to experience this remarkable temple before the heat of the day sets in. As the light begins to change, the surrounding Kedu Plain and volcanic peaks gradually emerge from the darkness, creating a spectacular backdrop to the temple.

Borobudur was built in the 8th and 9th centuries and is made up of nine stacked levels, decorated with thousands of intricate relief panels and hundreds of Buddha statues.
