Huge thanks to all of you for an amazing itinerary! Yogyakarta’s temples and Borobudur were breathtaking, and the train ride was a treat. Mount Bromo and Bromo terraces were incredible, and the Komodo snorkelling was unforgettable. Ubud was vibrant, with beautiful rice terraces, waterfalls, temples, and local celebrations. The hotels and staff throughout were wonderful, and the surprise room upgrades were a lovely touch.

Our Indonesia trip was incredible! We started in Bali, exploring rice terraces, waterfalls, and local markets. Mount Bromo was breathtaking, and the sunrise over the volcano was unforgettable. Komodo Island was a real adventure—snorkelling with colourful coral reefs and spotting Komodo dragons up close. The hotels were charming, the staff welcoming, and our guides made every experience seamless. We can’t wait to return!

Tour itinerary

Days 1 - 3 :

Sunrise at Borobudur and village life in the heart of Java

Fly overnight from the UK to Yogyakarta.

On arrival on day 2, transfer to Plataran Heritage Borobudur where you will spend 2 nights with breakfast included. Located amid Kretek’s rice terraces, this elegant colonial-style hotel offers peaceful gardens with Borobudur Temple and Menoreh Hills in view. Spend your afternoon relaxing, or exploring nearby paths.

On day 3, rise early to capture the sunrise over Borobudur’s UNESCO-listed temple compound. Later, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting off on an afternoon horse cart ride through Candirejo Village, where you’ll witness daily life such as locals farming and making cassava crackers.

Days 4 & 5:

Volcanic trails and exploring Yogyakarta

Transfer this morning to a village near Gunung Merapi for a 15km bike ride through countryside and traditional villages. After your bike tour, pause for lunch overlooking Prambanan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll then visit the Heritage Centre before being transferred to Gallery Prawiro Taman, a chic boutique hotel in Yogyakarta that blends modern comfort with artistic flair. You will stay here for a 2 night stay with breakfast included.

Explore Kotagede’s historic quarter by bicycle on day 5. Start with a taste of the unique Kembang Waru cookies at a master baker’s home before sharing a simple lunch with a local family, immersing in Javanese culture and architecture.

Days 6 - 8:

Komodo dragons, pink beaches and days of island discovery on Flores

This morning, you’ll transfer to the airport to fly to the island of Flores, via Bali. When you land in Flores, you will be met and transferred to Puri Sari Beach Hotel, in Labuan Bajo for 3 nights with breakfast included. This four-star boutique retreat combines modern design with traditional Flores architecture, and offers private balconies in a garden setting.

Embark on a full-day boat trip on day 7 to Komodo National Park, trekking to encounter Komodo dragons and snorkelling at Pink Beach and Kelor Island.

On day 8, visit Rinca Island with a local ranger, enjoy a  swim at Nine Island, and snorkel vibrant reefs at Kanawa.

Days 9 & 10:

Dive into Ubud’s culture with ceremony, cuisine, and relaxation

This morning, fly to Bali and transfer to spend 2 nights with breakfast included at the Adiwana Monkey Forest, a boutique hotel showcasing Balinese craftsmanship with contemporary style.

On day 10, begin your tour of Ubud with a blessing ceremony led by a traditional shaman, then a hands-on cooking class with a local chef at Kayun House, followed by a feast of authentic Balinese dishes. Unwind with a soothing Balinese massage in the afternoon.

Days 11 - 14:

Southern Bali beaches, clifftop temples & departure

Today you will explore Bali’s natural wonders: the Royal Temple of Mengwi, Lake Bratan, and Mount Batukaru, before visiting the dramatic Tanah Lot temple perched on volcanic rock. You will then be transferred to Sadara Boutique Beach Resort for 3 nights with breakfast included, an elegant coastal property on Bali’s eastern peninsula.

Spend day 12 at a secluded Bukit Peninsula beach club with lunch, then visit Uluwatu Temple at sunset, watching surfers ride waves below and tucking into an Asian fusion tapas dinner by Padang Padang Beach.

Day 13 is yours to enjoy a full day at leisure, perfect for poolside relaxation or beach strolls.

On your final day, transfer to Denpasar Airport for your flight back to the UK.
