A truly unforgettable trip to Zimbabwe. Huge thanks to Lucy at Sundowner who put together a wonderful itinerary of 3 stops. Elephant Camp was a great start, at Victoria Falls. A warm welcome from the team there. Loved learning about the conservation work too. Verney’s Camp was just incredible. What an experience living right next to a busy watering hole. Our guide Themba was just fantastic! And then ending up in a treehouse overlooking the Zambezi awash with crocs and hippos was a memorable end to a magical trip.

Tour itinerary

Days 1 - 4:

Victoria Falls – A natural wonder & your own adventure

Fly overnight from the UK to Victoria Falls.

Upon arrival in Victoria Falls on day 2, you will be transferred to spend 3 nights with breakfast included at Batonka Guest Lodge, a peaceful haven just minutes from the Falls. This leafy property is perfect for recharging, with a large pool, spacious rooms and a calm, friendly atmosphere.

Days 3 and 4 will be yours to spend at leisure. Take your pick from a range of activities from game drives and horse riding safaris, rhino tracking, and cultural visits to nearby rural villages. Get the blood pumping with white-water rafting, zip lining and maybe even a bungee jump. Spend your evenings relaxing on sunset cruises down the Zambezi.

Days 5 - 7:

Hwange National Park – Big Game encounters on the Ngamo Plains

This morning you will travel south to Bomani Tented Lodge, set in a private concession bordering Hwange’s wild eastern edge, you will stay here for 3 nights on a full-board basis.

You will now have 2 days of amazing authentic safari in and around Hwange National Park! With expert guides, you will head out each day to hopefully track lions, watch herds of elephants gathering at waterholes, and soaking up the stillness of the African bush. Back at camp, enjoy sundowners by the fire, cool off with a dip in the splash pool, or simply relax in the common area and soak up the views from a comfortable seat.

Days 8 - 12:

Zambezi Sands before heading home

After a morning game drive, you will be transferred north to the Zambezi River, where you’ll spend 4 nights on a full-board basis at Zambezi Sands by Batoka, a stylish riverside lodge offering private decks with uninterrupted views of the river.

For the next 3 days, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the stunning Zambezi River and the activities available at the lodge. If you want to see some more wildlife, head out on game drives or journey down the river for bird watching. Unwind with some meditation and yoga and visit local markets to learn more about the surrounding community.

After a final breakfast by the river on day 12, transfer to Victoria Falls Airport to check in for your flight home.
