Fly overnight from the UK to Yogyakarta.

Upon your arrival on day 2, you will be met and transferred to the Borobudur region. You’ll begin your holiday in the countryside near Borobudur at Amata Borobudur Resort for 2 nights with breakfast included. Amid lush gardens with views of Borobudur, Amata Borobudur Resort offers serene luxury just minutes from the iconic temple. Head out later for a quiet afternoon walk, or a visit to the nearby market.

Rise early on day 3 for a sunrise visit to Borobudur, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. You’ll then be taken back to your hotel to relax for the rest of the morning. This afternoon, explore Candirejo Village by horse cart, passing local farms and stopping to see cassava crackers being made the traditional way.

This morning you will enjoy a bike tour! Cycle past rice fields with views of Mount Merapi before stopping for lunch. After a break, you’ll continue on foot with a tour of Prambanan’s Temple Compounds. Then, continue to Yogyakarta and check in at Gallery Prawirotaman, a chic boutique hotel in Yogyakarta that blends modern comfort with artistic flair, where you will stay for 3 nights with breakfast included.

Explore Kotagede’s traditional lanes by bike on day 5, and enjoy a stop to taste local cookies, and share lunch with a family in their home. This evening you will head out on a street food tour and experience some authentic Indonesia food.

Day 6 is free for you to explore at your own leisure. Visit Yogyakarta’s royal palace, shop for batik, or catch a Ramayana ballet performance.

Board a scenic train to Jombang this morning for a relaxed, immersive way to cross Java. Once you disembark, you will be met by your driver to continue on to the ruins of Trowulan, once the seat of the Majapahit Empire. You will then have time for some lunch before continuing to Jiwa Jawa Bromo, an eco-lodge set in the cool highlands where you can enjoy a breathtaking view from 2,000 metres above the sea level. Settle in for a 1 night stay with breakfast included.

Next morning, take a 4WD up to a spectacular viewpoint for sunrise over Mount Bromo. After descending into the caldera, return for breakfast and continue by road to Jiwa Jawa Ijen for 1 night with breakfast included. This eco-minded lodge is set in a less-travelled area and blends East Javanese culture with sustainable practices.

Rise early for your guided hike up Mount Ijen, famous for its blue crater lake and sulphur miners. The trek is a gradual 3km climb, taking approximately 1½ hours. After your descent, you’ll be driven to the ferry port to board your crossing to Bali. You’ll continue to Taman Sari Pemuteran for 4 nights with breakfast included. Set away from Bali’s busy tourist areas, this hotel offers a glimpse into the island’s true character.

You will then have 3 full days to enjoy some beach time. Spend your days snorkelling around Menjangan Island, or you could explore the diverse inland scenery of pristine rice fields and the contrasting mountains. Or, simply stay by the pool!

On day 13, you will head south for your final night in Indonesia, before you are met on day 14 and transferred to Denpasar Airport for your flight back to the UK.
