Tour itinerary
Arrival, Victoria Falls & the Upper Zambezi
Fly overnight from the UK to Livingstone (via Johannesburg).
Upon arrival on day 2, you’ll be met and transferred upriver to the beautiful Chundukwa River Lodge where you will stay for 3 nights on a full-board basis. With its thatched, stilted chalets overlooking the Zambezi and friendly, hands-on hosts, this is the perfect introduction to Zambia.
Days 3 and 4 are yours at leisure. Your time at Chundukwa includes a classic Zambezi sunrise or sunset cruise and a full day at Victoria Falls. You could add in some mountain biking if you wish, or have your first wildlife experience by heading out on a walking tour. To see what life is like in the local community, visit the local school in Nakawa, or simply relax by the pool and soak up the views of your surroundings.
Wild safari in the Lower Zambezi
After a final morning by the river, take a light aircraft flight to the Lower Zambezi National Park, where you’ll spend 3 nights at Zambezi Grande.
Days 6 and 7 are all about safari, with two activities included each day. Head out on game drives in search of elephants, predators and other wildlife, explore the Zambezi by boat or try your hand at fishing using the camp’s equipment. Your stay also includes a cultural village visit, giving you the chance to learn more about life in this remote part of Zambia.
On day 8, leave the Lower Zambezi behind and fly from Royal to Lusaka, where you’ll connect with your flight to Johannesburg. On arrival in Johannesburg, you’ll be transferred to African Rock Hotel for 1 night before returning to the airport the following day for your flight to Vilanculos.
From the Zambezi to Mozambique’s Indian Ocean coast
Today, you will fly to Mozambique and transfer to AsDunas Lodge for 6 nights. Set among the dunes overlooking the Indian Ocean, this is where the pace of your honeymoon slows right down after your time on safari.
Days 10 to 14 are yours at leisure. Relax by the pool, spend long days on the beach or head out to explore the coast and waters around Vilanculos. Just offshore, the Bazaruto Archipelago is known for its clear waters, coral reefs and marine life, with opportunities for snorkelling, diving and boat trips.
On day 15, fly back to Johannesburg to connect with your international flight home to the UK.
