This morning you will leave San Jose behind and start your journey by being transferred approx. 3 hours to Arenal Volcano region where you will be staying for 3 nights at Lomas del Volcan, staying in a wooden lodge cabin surrounded by rainforest, with superb views of Arenal from most rooms. It’s an ideal base for soaking up the region’s scenery and adventure.

Arenal is a lush region of rainforest and rivers, dominated by its perfectly conical volcano and alive with adventure and wildlife.

This morning you will join a shared half day tour of the Arenal Volcano and the Hot Springs. Enjoy the extraordinary view of Arenal during your gentle hike through the forest and the old lava flows, followed by a visit to the volcanic thermal mineral pools at the Hot Springs. Make sure you bring a swimsuit to have a healthy and relaxing dip in the volcanic thermal pools. Later, you’ll enjoy your dinner in the area before heading back to your hotel.

Today you set off for a shared half day Natural History and Hanging Bridges walk. Explore this incredible biodiverse area with a naturalist guide who will show you the fascinating and colourful tropical rainforest and waterfalls. The views of the volcano from the hanging bridges over the forest make for one unforgettable experience. You will then have a free afternoon and evening to do with as you wish. This morning you will be collected for your shared transfer and lake crossing to Monteverde Cloud forest, a mist-shrouded highland where cloud forests, hanging bridges, and wildlife encounters create Costa Rica’s most enchanting mountain escape. You will spend 2 nights at Camino Verde Bed & Breakfast. This charming and friendly hilltop B&B has sweeping Monteverde cloud-forest views and offers exceptional customer service.

You will start your day today with a half day tour of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve. Your guide will take you on a gentle hike through well marked trails, waterfalls, rivers and you will also stop at the observation area, if you are lucky you might spot a “Quetzal” – one of the most beautiful birds in the world. In this incredible biodiverse forest, you will find hundreds of species of mammals, birds, replies, plants and more – have your camera ready!! This morning you will wave good bye to lush cloud forest and join your shared transfer to the Pacific Coast where you will end your Costa Rican adventure. You will spend 3 nights at the Coast Beachfront Hotel which combines modern, beach-chic style with an easygoing atmosphere, offering bright, comfortable rooms set around a palm-lined pool and gardens. Simple but stylish with direct beach access, friendly service, and plenty of space to unwind.

Two full days at leisure in Tamarindo to soak up the sun, hit the beach, and explore your beautiful surroundings under your own steam. Tamarindo is a relaxed beach town, known for its golden sands, gentle surf, and famously fiery sunsets. Spend your days swimming or taking a relaxed surf lesson, or wander along the shore to quieter Playa Langosta or Playa Avellanas for lunch by the sea. Evenings are best spent watching the sun set over the Pacific, perhaps after a catamaran cruise or a kayak through the mangrove estuary in nearby Las Baulas National Park.
