On arrival into San Jose you’ll be privately transferred approx. 1.5 hours to Bajos del Toro cloud forest where you will stay for 4 nights with breakfast included in one of the most romantic eco lodges in this area – El Silencio. On your first morning. enjoy a hike with a local nature guide. Walk through the hummingbird garden and hidden paths & trails while looking out for the local residents such as monkeys, frogs and many others. Binoculars and cameras at the ready! Later this afternoon you’ll start a guided tour along the private paths of the cloud forest to find the impressive local waterfalls.

Days at El Silencio Lodge & Spa can be as active or as peaceful as you choose. Spend time exploring the lodge’s organic garden and coffee farm, learning how local produce shapes Costa Rican cuisine, or try a cookery class with the chef. Enjoy horse riding through the forest, cycling along rural trails, or joining a birdwatching walk to spot hummingbirds and tanagers. For something gentler, take part in a forest meditation session, yoga by the river, or indulge in a spa treatment using natural, locally sourced ingredients. Evenings are for farm-to-table dining and stargazing from your terrace as the sounds of the cloud forest come alive.

You’ll be transferred to the Pacific Coast on day 5 where you’ll spend 5 nights with breakfast included at the beautiful Jardin del Eden, a stylish adults-only boutique hotel just behind Tamarindo Beach, elevated slightly above the shoreline in tropical gardens with sea views. It’s a two-minute walk down a private path to the hotel’s reserved beachfront area. This is the perfect place to unwind, sipping cocktails at sunset, swimming in the warm Pacific, and enjoying Costa Rican hospitality with a touch of coastal elegance.

Enjoy a half-day kayaking and snorkelling tour, gliding across the calm blue waters of Tamarindo Bay before reaching Capitán Island, where you can snorkel among colourful coral reefs and tropical fish. Spend the rest of the day at your own pace, relaxing by the pool or on the beach.

Another day takes you into the peaceful mangrove estuary between Tamarindo and Playa Grande on a guided kayak tour, where you’ll paddle through calm waters surrounded by coastal birds and lush mangroves. Afterwards, unwind back at the hotel and enjoy the easy rhythm of beach life.

During your remaining time in Tamarindo, make the most of your surroundings — laze on the sand, try surfing or paddleboarding, or enjoy a massage or spa treatment. The hotel team can also help arrange additional excursions if you’d like to explore further.

Today you’ll wave goodbye to Tamarindo and be transferred to Liberia airport to check in for your flight back to the UK.
