Sundowner have designed four holidays for us so far, with a fifth planned for November. Our latest holiday was in Thailand and Cambodia, and we have also travelled to Tanzania, Japan and Madagascar with the company. Tour itinerary

Days 1 - 3:

Overnight journey from the UK to vibrant Ho Chi Minh City

Fly overnight from the UK to Ho Chi Minh City.

In Ho Chi Minh City, you will be spending 2 nights at Fusion Suites Saigon, a hotel with a great, central location with beautiful rooms and outstanding views of the city.

Wake up on Day 3 and make sure you fill up on breakfast ready for a half-private day tour exploring the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels where you will learn about the fascinating history of Vietnam. Our knowledgeable local guide will give you a clear understanding of the not-so-distant history that surrounds this local area. See the measures the Vietnamese went to by travelling down the many tunnels (if you’re brave enough!)

Day 4:

Journey to the Mekong Delta, experience tri-motorcycle rides and tranquil boat cruises

Today you will be met and transferred to the Mekong Delta. On route you will get to ride on a tri-motorcycle, cruise through the waterways by boat and traditional sampan, cycle through villages and meet the locals. In the Delta, you will spend the next 2 nights at Can Tho Ecolodge with breakfast included. A tranquil riverside retreat in the Mekong Delta, Can Tho Ecolodge offers eco-friendly comfort and an authentic glimpse into local life.

Days 5 - 7:

Explore local markets and unwind in a tranquil riverside resort

More chance to explore the waterways and villages of the Delta today. Head to a local market, temple and village before heading back to Mango Home to simply relax and enjoy the atmosphere of this slow-paced area.

On day 6 you will visit a local floating market and village before being collected and transferred back to Ho Chi Minh Airport to check in for your domestic flight to Hue. In Hue, you will spend 2 nights with breakfast included at the Pilgrimage Village Boutique Resort & Spa with its relaxed atmosphere and fantastic pool this is the perfect spot for a quiet afternoon!

Explore Hue on day 7 with a full day private guided tour giving an overview of the city’s culture and history. Begin with the fascinating UNESCO Imperial Citadel, before carrying on by bike and discovering Tinh Tam Lake filled with spectacular lotus flowers. You will then leave the city behind as you travel into the countryside to discover Khai Dinh’s tomb, before ending with a browse through the colourful Dong Ba Market. Tonight, you will jump on the back of a Vintage Vespa and zoom off to explore the city, stopping to try some authentic and delicious Vietnamese food along the way.

Days 8 - 10:

Hoi An: ancient streets and local delicacies

Today you will travel through Hai Van Pass, also known as the Pass of Ocean Clouds, travelling down to the picturesque Hoi An. Before heading to your hotel, you will make a stop for a private tour of the UNESCO My Son Temples, older than the infamous Angkor Wat. In Hoi An, you will be staying for 2 nights with breakfast included at the Little Riverside Hoi An Resort. A luxury hotel situated in the heart of Hoi An Ancient Town, on the banks of the Thu Bon River.

Head on a private street food tour by bicycle on day 9. Ride through the ancient town trying local treats such as white-rose dumplings, Cao Lau noodles, green leaf cakes, herbal drinks and more!

Day 10 is your final day to relax by the pool before catching your flights to the UK.
