The honeymoon of a lifetime! Great service from James. We loved the safari in the Okavango Delta – great guides/trackers, good service and saw some great animals. A fabulous location.

Colin Brown, Botswana

We loved the safari in Botswana. The lodges and the quality of guides was truly outstanding. It was a phenomenal experience that gave us memories to last a lifetime.

Harry Webb, Botswana

We loved every minute of our safari – each place and lodge visited was very different, with its own unique experiences. All in all it was a wonderful adventure with the most beautiful of scenery and people. Our driver was very informative and determined to find us every wild animal under the sun! No rhino but we did see a spitting cobra and a massive python!

Jess Adkins, Botswana

The experience was fantastic. The African culture, the wildlife and all the personal touches from the lodge hosts. A measure of a good holiday is one you want to repeat; we would both do this trip again tomorrow – brilliant.

Weather in Botswana

Botswana’s climate is defined by two main seasons: the lush green season and the dry winter months. Whether you’re seeking dramatic landscapes, incredible wildlife encounters, or a safari experience with fewer crowds, understanding the country’s weather patterns will help you plan the perfect trip.

The Green Season (November–April): A Photographer’s Dream
During the green season, Botswana comes alive with fresh rains transforming the landscape into a lush paradise. Expect warm temperatures averaging 30–35°C (86–95°F) and occasional afternoon thunderstorms that quickly give way to sunshine. This is a fantastic time for birdwatchers, as migratory species flock to the region, and for those hoping to witness the birth of baby animals. While some areas, like the Okavango Delta, may become harder to access due to flooding, the vibrant scenery and lower tourist numbers make it a hidden gem for travelers.

The Dry Season (May–October): Prime Safari Time
As the rains disappear, Botswana enters its peak safari season. Water sources dry up, forcing wildlife to gather around rivers and waterholes, making it easier to spot elephants, lions, and other iconic animals. The days are sunny and comfortable, with temperatures ranging from 20–27°C (68–81°F), though nights can be chilly, especially from June to August. This is the best time for game drives in Chobe National Park, the Moremi Game Reserve, and the vast Makgadikgadi Pans. If you’re planning a trip during this period, book well in advance, as lodges and camps fill up quickly.
