We’ve just returned from Argentina and Chile, and it’s one of the best holidays we’ve ever had. Sundowner put together a brilliant itinerary that let us experience Patagonia on both sides of the border—Chile’s dramatic mountain scenery and Argentina’s awe-inspiring glaciers—for a journey we will never forget.

Anne & Peter, Argentina & Chile

Our trip to Chile and Ecuador went really smoothly with flights and transfers all well organised. In Chile we visited the Atacama Desert and the lake district, both very different and memorable. In Ecuador we enjoyed exploring Quito and then spent time in the Galápagos where swimming with sea lions and seeing giant tortoises was a real highlight. We were well looked after throughout and didn’t have to worry about a thing. A fantastic holiday, thank you.

Helen & Richard Davies , Chile & Ecuador

We planned our honeymoon in Chile with Sundowner Holidays and it was perfect. We explored Santiago and the surrounding wine country, then flew south to the lake district, enjoying quiet walks by the lakes and local markets. The mix of city, countryside, and nature made it really special, and Sundowner helped make it a trip we’ll always remember.

Days 2 - 4 :

Salt flats, geysers & high-altitude wonders

These days are all about exploring the Atacama’s surreal landscapes with expert local guides. Begin with a sunset tour to the Valle de la Luna—its wind-sculpted dunes and craters turning gold and crimson in the twilight. Wake early for a full-day excursion to the Tatio Geysers, where steaming vents erupt from the earth at dawn. You’ll return via remote villages like Machuca, where llamas graze and mudbrick chapels stand frozen in time. Another day, visit the shimmering Salar de Atacama and the high-altitude lagoons of Miscanti and Miñiques, framed by snow-dusted peaks and home to Andean flamingos. On your free afternoon, relax back at Casa Solcor or browse the artisan shops and galleries in town.

Tailor it to you and add a half-day hike in the Rainbow Valley, known for its multi-coloured rock formations, or a moonlit stargazing session with a local astronomer—Atacama’s skies are among the clearest in the world!

A day among the vines in the Maipo Valley

Today is reserved for wine lovers. Head into the heart of the Maipo Valley for a full-day private tour of two premium wineries, such as Viña El Principal or Santa Rita. You’ll stroll among the vines, visit barrel-filled cellars, and enjoy tastings of bold reds and crisp whites. A gourmet lunch with vineyard views rounds off the day before returning to Santiago. Prefer bubbles to bold reds? Ask us about swapping Maipo for the Casablanca Valley’s cool-climate whites.
