We were looked after from start to finish, our hotels were brilliant and the whole holiday was full of experiences that made memories to last forever! Thank you

D. Stratten, Thailand

Our trip was fantastic from start to finish. All our guides were excellent and met us on schedule every time. They had excellent local knowledge and were very informative. We had hotels in good locations, which felt luxurious but at an affordable price.

Hilary, Thailand

The memories we made will never be forgotten and exceeded everything we expected. Everything went to plan, from the first call with Andrew, throughout the holiday, to arriving back home.

Peter Danks, Thailand

We had an amazing honeymoon. Thank you so much we appreciate you listening to what we wanted and making it just as we had hoped.

Hilary Wilson, Thailand

We have just returned from celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with a fabulous three-week adventure in Laos and Thailand. This was our fifth holiday with Sundowner Holidays, and once again they provided perfectly located boutique hotels, great excursions, seamless connections, and knowledgeable guides. Our sincere thanks go to the whole team for putting this wonderful itinerary together. We look forward to planning our next trip!

Weather in Thailand

Thailand has a tropical climate with three distinct seasons: the cool season, the hot season, and the rainy season. Whether you’re exploring the bustling streets of Bangkok, relaxing on the beaches of Phuket, or trekking in the jungles of Chiang Mai, understanding Thailand’s weather will help you plan the perfect trip.

The Rainy Season (May–October): Lush but Humid
The rainy season, influenced by the southwest monsoon, brings warm temperatures (24–32°C / 75–90°F) and frequent downpours, especially in August and September. While showers are usually short and followed by sunshine, some areas, particularly Phuket and Krabi, experience heavier rainfall and rougher seas. However, this is a great time to visit Thailand’s waterfalls, national parks, and cultural sites with fewer crowds. Koh Samui and nearby islands receive less rain, making them a good alternative during this season.

The Dry Season (November–April): Best for Travel
The dry season is the most popular time to visit Thailand, with cooler temperatures (20–30°C / 68–86°F) and low humidity. November to February offers the most comfortable weather, perfect for sightseeing and island-hopping. March and April are the hottest months, with temperatures exceeding 35°C (95°F), especially in central and northern regions. This is also when Songkran, the Thai New Year water festival, takes place. Beach destinations like Phuket, Krabi, and Koh Samui enjoy sunny days and calm seas, making it the best time for diving, snorkelling, and relaxing on Thailand’s stunning coastlines.
