wonderful mix of culture, history & stunning tropical beaches, this 14 night family adventure includes a private tour around the incredible highlights of Sri Lanka’s ancient kingdoms & lush plantation country before hopping to the idyllic islands of the Maldives to play in the white coral sand and splash in the turquoise Indian Ocean.
Day 1: UK to Colombo
Fly overnight from the UK to Colombo.
Day 2: Colombo to Negombo
On arrival you will be met by your driver/guide and transferred in your private vehicle a short distance towards Negombo where you will spend 1 night in the family suite at the Wallawwa, a stunning boutique retreat which is a fantastic start to any Sri Lanka holiday with its beautiful grounds, relaxed atmosphere, lovely little spa (junior spa available!) and excellent Asian-fusion cuisine.
Day 3: Negombo to Cultural Triangle
This morning you will drive north into the Cultural Triangle, heading to the incredible Dambulla Cave Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the largest temple cave complex in Sri Lanka. You will then head for 3 nights in a deluxe family attic room at the Aliya Resort, a larger hotel with a stylish modern edge; the huge selling point to Aliya is its fantastic location and huge swimming pool with unbeatable views of Sigiriya Rock and the Pidurangala Rock Temple.
Day 4 – Cultural Triangle
This morning you will head to the ancient kingdom of Polonnaruwa to enjoy a guided cycling tour. This UNESCO World Heritage site was the second capital of Sri Lanka after the destruction of Anuradhapura in 993 and contains some incredible well-preserved stupas, temples and Buddha statues. This afternoon you will return to Aliya Resort for a swim in that amazing pool!
Day 5 – Cultural Triangle
This morning you will be collected by your guide and driven to the iconic Rock Fortress of Sigiriya to enjoy a guided tour of this fascinating UNESCO complex and a hike to the top to enjoy the stunning scenery. Day 6 – Cultural Triangle to Kandy (Kigalle)
This morning you will be driven south to the scenic city of Kandy, heading to the UNESCO Temple of the Tooth and Royal Palace where you will enjoy a guided tour and walk by Kandy Lake.
You will then head for 2 nights in the Lime Family Room at the Rosyth Estate, a family owned tea and rubber estate 1 hour from Kandy with a beautifully refurbished 7 bedroom planters bungalow set on a hill with stunning views of the surrounding plantations.
Day 7 – Kigalle
Today you have a full day at leisure to enjoy the great selection of activities on offer at Rosyth – we definitely recommend a tour of the tea factory and a walk to the local village and temple.
Day 8: Colombo to the Maldives
Early this morning you will be transferred back to Colombo Airport for your short flight to the Maldives. On arrival you will be met and assisted onto your boat transfer to the North Male Atoll where you will end with 7 nights in Deluxe Bungalow at Kurumba Island, a family friendly slice of paradise with excellent facilities, friendly staff and a fantastic house reef.

Day 9 to 14: Kurumba Island
Six full days to relax and enjoy the island. There is a huge amount to do on the island and activities include diving & snorkeling (for all the family), cat sailing, waterskiing, windsurfing, local island excursions and even surfing. Kurumba also has the Majaa kids club offering painting, beach sports, traditional craft making and even a spot of marine biology!
Day 15: Male to UK
This morning you will be transferred by speedboat back to Male Airport for your flight back to the UK (via Colombo).
